Bringing Your Own Food and Water to Disney World: What You Need to Know
Visiting Walt Disney World can be magical, but it can also get expensive, especially when it comes to food. The good news? Disney allows guests to bring their own food and water into the parks, making it easier to save money, stay hydrated and keep everyone happy. Not only that, you can also have groceries delivered right to your resort!
Saving money on food at your Disney World Resort
One of the easiest ways to save money at Disney World is by having groceries delivered directly to your resort. Ordering snacks, breakfast items and drinks ahead of time can significantly cut food costs, especially for families. I love ordering from Walmart or Publix, depending on the Resort location.
Here’s what you need to know when ordering groceries to your Disney World Resort
Use a grocery delivery service that delivers to Disney resorts.
Order snacks, breakfast items, and drinks to save money
Check your resort’s policy for grocery delivery and handling fees
Remember, most rooms have either a mini beverage cooler or mini fridge. Beverage coolers are not as cold as fridges, so make sure you plan accordingly with anything that needs refrigeration. You can view the list of Resort In-Room Refrigerator Availability here!

Best Foods to Order With Grocery Delivery to Walt Disney World Resorts
Whatever your family likes, but here is a list of my favorites: Breakfast items, such as muffins, fruit, oatmeal, etc. Bread, peanut and jelly, snacky foods and sometimes I try to get vegetables like carrots and cucumbers, because vegetables are the last thing on my mind when I’m eating at Disney World, ha!
Saving money on food at Disney World Parks
Guests are welcome to pack snacks, meals and bottled water as long as items follow Disney’s rules. Food should not require heating, glass containers are not allowed (except small baby food jars) and coolers must be soft-sided and under the size limit (loose and dry ice are not permitted). Refillable water bottles are great to have and you can refill them at water fountains. What’s also amazing is you can request free cups of ice water at the quick service stands/restaurants.

Let’s talk water at Walt Disney World
Staying hydrated at Walt Disney World is so important! To do this make sure you are packing water. Whether you are bringing your own reusable water bottle or bringing in disposable water bottles, make sure you are refilling them at the water stations or asking for cups of water at quick service locations.
Here is my favorite reusable water bottle, however, with a family of six, these get a little tiresome to carry around. Luckily we still travel with a stroller, so these can easily go in the bottom of the stroller. Also, I’m pretty sure these were setting of the metal detectors when we went through them, so just keep that in mind.
If I am purchasing water with grocery delivery, I typically buy smartwater because these bottles are nice and slim, slipping into my backpack easily.
Water bottle refill station are located throughout the parks, you can click here to view or in your My Disney Experience App, search “Water Bottle Refill Station” and you will see the interactive map.
Lastly, sometimes the water at Disney World tastes a little different from home, so keep that in mind if you are particular to tastes of water. A good idea is to add gallon size drinking water to your grocery delivery if you want!
